Mark Zuckerberg: “The AI future is for everyone.”

Mark Zuckerberg laid out Meta's AI philosophy in a Wall Street Journal op-ed yesterday.

Zuckerberg is arguing that the defining question of the era is not whether superintelligence will exist, but who gets access to it. He even directly criticized the doom-heavy rhetoric coming from rival AI labs.

Zuckerberg framed Meta's approach around three principles:

  • individual empowerment as the source of prosperity

  • invention as the primary purpose of superintelligence

  • balance of power as the foundation of safety

He argued that a single benevolent superintelligence cannot align with humanity's opposing values.

On the economy, he claimed widely distributed superintelligence will create more jobs rather than fewer, make starting businesses dramatically cheaper, and shift the workforce toward more people running small entrepreneurial companies instead of working at large ones.

Sounds like a good time to be an ecomm cowboy.

Quick number that should bug every DTC operator:

Klaviyo only recognizes about 1/3 of your returning shoppers. Everyone else browses anonymously and your flows sit idle.
